He told reporters, "I don’t know if all of ya know but I’m always having fun...you gotta have fun out here man, if you take it too serious the game will get old too fast." When asked by reporters about teammate Zech McPherson, Darius Slay praised Zech's work ethic and said “I’m trying to teach him everything I know because one of these days he’ll be taking my position. That’s the goal for me as a veteran guy. I want a younger guy to be the next me or even better.”
